Preserve Family Letters

A handwritten letter is proof that someone sat down and thought about you.

Not a quick text. Not an email they composed in between meetings. They pulled out paper. Found a pen. Sat at a table or desk. And wrote sentences they could only write once, without a delete key, without the option to take it back.

That's a different kind of communication.

That's why old letters survive in shoeboxes for decades. Why people read them again after death. Why a single paragraph can feel like a conversation with someone gone thirty years.

The oldest thing in most family archives isn't a photo.

It's a letter.
