Twenty-some years driving delivery routes across a few different states, my back never quite right from the crash, paying that debt down in slow pieces the whole time. I finally tracked down Jennifer's number in 2024. That first call was hard -- a lot of silence, a lot of things I couldn't really apologize my way out of.
